Punta del Este, Uruguay

The city of Punta del Este, is internationally known, among other things as the most important and exclusive resort of South America, apart from being one of the most famous cities for the so many famous people from the international jet set who visit it.
Punta del Este is known worldwide as a scenic resort area with miles of beautiful beaches, luxury hotels and restaurants, glittery nightlife and an upscale summer population. For decades Punta del Este was an exclusive resort for wealthy South Americans, and it is still expensive, but not as much as famed European and US resort areas. Casinos, luxurious restaurants and hotels, never ending sports activities, natural attractions, shops, nightclubs and a temperate climate beckon to international travelers.
Punta del Este offers twenty miles of pristine beaches. Mansa, or gentle beach, is on the bay side featuring gentle waves and currents making it ideal for families and relaxation; Brava faces the Atlantic ocean and is known for its bigger waves and surfing.
Summer is the most popular season (December through March). In the off-season, Punta del Este is more relaxed and resembles any resting seaside resort. Many of the restaurants and shops close, but the beautiful beaches are still there.
